Mt. Gox Wallet Moves $5.8B in BTC to Unknown Address

Mt. Gox just moved $2.7 billion worth of Bitcoin to an unknown address. Once the biggest crypto exchange, Mt. Gox still holds a massive amount of BTC.

Mt. Gox has transferred $5.8 billion of Bitcoin to an undisclosed address. Previously the largest cryptocurrency exchange, Mt. Gox still possesses a significant amount of BTC. Their holdings are valued at approximately $8.73 billion, based on the latest Bitcoin price of $62,830, which recently saw a $186 decline.


Their portfolio comprises 138,985 BTC. In the past few days, the total value of their holdings has decreased by $25.85 million, marking a noticeable drop.

Regarding recent transactions, just an hour ago, Mt. Gox sent 44,527 BTC, valued at $2.82 billion, to a cold wallet with the address 3JQieEzckjfS34oW8KZSGE. But that’s not all. Three hours earlier, there were two additional large transfers: first, 4,641 BTC worth $293.94 million to the same cold wallet, followed by another transfer of 47,229 BTC valued at $2.99 billion to a different cold wallet, 18vjnBHWAxU4CPGPqF7Gp9j. This move brings the number of assets that Mt. Gox moved today to 5.8 billion USD.
