zkSync is set to airdrop 3.675 billion ZK tokens to early users and investors of its Ethereum Layer 2 network next week. You can check your eligibility for the airdrop at this link.

This amount represents 17.5% of the total supply of 21 billion ZK tokens, zkSync announced on Tuesday. This will be a one-time airdrop, and users can claim their tokens from next week until January 3, 2025. Contributors will be able to claim their tokens starting June 24.

An additional 49.1% of the token supply will be distributed through ecosystem initiatives, with 17.2% allocated to investors and 16.1% to the Matter Labs team.

zkSync has selected 695,232 wallets for this airdrop. The airdrop conditions and allocations are based on a snapshot taken on March 24, 2024, at 00:00 UTC on zkSync Era and zkSync Lite, marking the first anniversary of zkSync Era’s main net launch.

The 17.5% ZK airdrop is divided into users (89%) and contributors (11%). Users are those who have traded on zkSync and met activity thresholds. Contributors include individuals, developers, researchers, communities, and companies who have contributed to the zkSync ecosystem and protocol through development, promotion, or education, regardless of their network activity.

The remaining community allocation will be distributed over time through ecosystem initiatives managed by the zkSync Foundation and the ZK Nation governance process to support the growing ecosystem as new users join the chain, zkSync stated.
